How To Convert Table To Text In Word

Please Note: This article is written for users of the following Microsoft Word versions: 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, and Word in Office 365. If you are using an before version (Word 2003 or before), this tip may not work for you. Converting a Table into Text

There may be times when yous want to convert an existing table into text. To exercise this, follow these steps:

  1. Select the entire table y'all desire to convert to text.
  2. Make sure the Layout tab of the ribbon is displayed.
  3. In the Data grouping, click the Convert to Text tool. Word displays the Convert Table to Text dialog box. (See Figure ane.)

  5. Select the advisable character that Word should use to carve up the columns of text.
  6. Click on OK.

Depending on your version of Give-and-take, you may accept noticed, in stride 4, that there are really two Layout tabs on the ribbon. This is because when yous selected the table in step one, Word automatically added ii context-appropriate tabs to the ribbon—the Tabular array Blueprint and Layout tabs. Information technology is this 2nd context-appropriate tab (Layout) that you want to select in step ii.
